My etsy store
Here’s a preview of the weighted blankets I have stocked in my etsy store right now. I have many more to add over the next few days, just have to take photos of them first.

Jess, over at Balancing Everything had rave reviews about a cookbook she used while on a camping trip recently. The cookbook is all slow cooker recipes and get this, gluten free
I ordered my copy just now and can’t wait for it to arrive! I’ll be back in a few weeks with reviews of my own. Until then, be sure to click and take a look.
I just filmed this a few minutes ago and wanted to share.
I have more weighted blankets ready for purchase on ebay. You can see them by clicking this link Hugs by the Pound weighted blankets.
I also have begun making some waterproof wet bags in the Autism Awareness print fabric.
Enjoy!
I have finally started making weighted blankets again. I currently have one available for sale in one of my etsy stores. You can find it by clicking here.
I have several nearly complete and will be stocking them soon.
Since this blog is one of several I have and each one is on a different subject, I have decided to do some changing.
My main blog is Crazy for the Country. It is my family blog, where I post about anything and everything in our every day lives.
Besides my main blog, there is this one, Hugs by the Pound. Then, I also have Calling It Quilts, Oh Chicken Feathers! and Stepford Housewife.
I am going to make all of my “secondary” blogs into review or informational type blogs. I plan to post at least a couple of times a week on each of them, each post will be very specific. For instance, here on Hugs by the Pound, each post will be about special needs. Mostly Autism but also therapy aids, GFCG diets and lots more. This format will carry over to each of my other blogs, keeping Crazy for the Country as my main “what’s happening” blog for our family. All of Gregory’s progress will now be on Crazy for the Country.
So be sure to bookmark each one and come back often. This change will start tomorrow, June 1, 2010.
Enjoy!
I’m constantly on the look out for new GFCF recipes, getting ready for when Gregory actually starts broadening his dietary horizons.
I just found this today.
She even has a homemade GFCF yogurt recipe!
I’m adding the link to my blogroll, as well.
Enjoy!
I will be starting to sell my weighted blankets and lap pads again very soon. I have several that are ready, I just need to fill them with weight. I won’t be selling them on “fee”bay any longer, though. I will be putting some on etsy and the rest here on my blog. I was very successful on ebay, but the fees are going up every time one turns around and I just don’t want to continue to pay the outrageous fees to them.
Be sure to keep checking back, I hope to have some ready in the next few days.
Here’s some photos of ones I have sold in the past.
Yesterday evening Mike, Gregory and I were sitting on the back porch.
Gregory was playing with Mike then wanted to rinse off his feet (the chickens are in the back yard, so he had poop on his feed). He kept showing us, and knowing that we normally would just get up and turn on the water to rinse them off.
Instead, Mike took Gregory’s hand and put it on his mouth and said “water”…trying to get Gregory to say it. Finally, I suggested “wa-wa”. Gregory said it!!! WOOT!
Then, Gregory saw some planes overhead and pointed excitedly to them. Mike did the same thing and Gregory said “plane”.
This went on for about 30 minutes, I would say, and Gregory ended up saying not only those words, but “bird” and “splash”.
We were so excited. I hope this is the start of major communication. Not getting to hopeful, but any words is a great improvement.
He is 5 today!
It’s been a long 5 years, but then again, it seems like just yesterday my little guy was born.
He’s at school right now, I will snap a birthday photo and post it later today.
Happy Birthday Little Guy!
